Donnhoff 2020 Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Norheim Kirschheck is the oldest recorded vineyards of the Nahe. Kirsche means “cherry”, so the age-old name of the site likely refers to the wild cherries that grow even today amidst the vines. The site faces due south and its soils are composed largely of grey slate mixed with sandstone.

“Captivating aromas of a garden dripping with rain after a summer storm. Both very succulent and really elegant, the serious acidity lighting this up like fireworks. Brilliant and super-fresh, barely off-dry finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification.” 95 points, Stuart Pigott Jamessucking.com

"The 2020 Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese is clear, pure and intense on the nose like a fine Italian perfume on wet, crushed stones. Lush and round on the palate, this is a dense yet very delicate and dangerously juicy and stimulating mineral Spätlese that is irresistible. Impossible to spit out. This long and salty Spätlese is singing. 8.5% alcohol. Tasted at the domain in July 2021." Robert Parker 95 Points
