Domaine de la Rochette 2016 Mâcon-Bussières Mont Sard

Description

"(12.5% alcohol; from a steep southwest-facing slope with slightly richer soil than the Mâcon Milly-Lamartine Montagne de Cra; the vines here were planted from the late 1970s through the early '80s): Bright, full yellow-gold. Riper on the nose than the Milly-Lamartine, with a yellower stone fruit character (probably from clay in the soil) suggesting a rounder wine. Pliant and broad on the palate; more perfumed than the Mâcon Milly-Lamartine Montagne de Cra but still uncompromisingly dry, with harmonious mineral-driven acidity adding structure and class and carrying the finish. This wine has about 4.1 grams per liter of acidity, vs. 4.3 for the Milly-Lamartine and 4.5 for the Aligoté. I like this!" Stephen Tanzer 90 Points
