PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
“Between You and I”is a 16-year-old single malt from Highland Park made in collaboration with Swedish chef Björn Frantzén, matured in virgin Swedish oak casks. At ~48% ABV, it is a rich, bold, oak-driven dram with sweet honeyed malt, spice, fruit, and subtle smoke. The virgin Swedish oak gives it distinctive character: more tannin, wood spice, and a richer mouthfeel than many Highland Park core expressions. It’s made for whisky lovers who enjoy oak-forward, nuanced single malts with culinary crossover appeal.

Here are the tasting notes as described by sellers / early impressions:
| Sense | Notes |
|---|---|
| Nose / Aroma | Warm oak spices, vanilla, floral or delicate orchard-fruit undertones; rich wood character from the virgin Swedish oak. |
| Palate / Taste | Sweet honey, dried fruit; toasted oak; texture is smooth but robust. Also some whispers of Highland Park’s subtle peat/smoke (typical of Orkney) balanced with the oak’s spiciness. |
| Finish | Long, lingering with oak spice, sweetness, maybe some smokey or maritime notes. Finish draws out wood tannins with a satisfying warmth. |
Virgin Swedish Oak Casks: These are less common, especially in Highland Park expressions, and they tend to impart very potent oak flavour (tannin, spice, vanilla, wood oils). This gives this release a different dimension compared to ex-bourbon or refill casks.
Chef Collaboration: Björn Frantzén brings a culinary sensibility, likely influencing how the whisky is finished, how the flavour profile is designed, and also how it’s presented. This can appeal to fans of cooking / food pairing.
Higher Strength (48%): Enough ABV to carry the wood, but not overly overpowering; allows the oak & malt to come through more strongly.
Natural Colour & Limited Edition: Adds to its appeal for collectors. The craftsmanship & less common wood make it more premium / niche.
Bold and flavour-intensive; excellent for people who like whisky with strong wood character and complexity.
Very good for sipping slowly; letting the wood open up over time will reveal layers.
The oak and spice give it a lot of presence — more than gentler Highland Park expressions, so it stands out in their range.
Serve neat in a tulip or Glencairn glass to appreciate the oak aroma, strength, and nuances. Let it open up after pouring.
A few drops of water can help soften harsh wood tannins and bring out more fruit or residual smoke/citrus.
Good food pairings: smoked or grilled fish; cured meats; rich creamy cheeses; desserts with oak or caramel elements (vanilla crème brûlée, caramelised nuts). Also matches well with dishes that have nutty or spice components (think Swedish or Scandinavian cuisine, given the collaborator).
Bottle Size: All bottles are 750ML/700ML unless otherwise noted.
21 and Over: Adult Signature Required
