Barrell AQ79 Sercial Madeira Cask is a limited-release whiskey blended and bottled by Barrell Craft Spirits in Louisville, KY. The Barrell Private Release Series is a project in detailed blending on a scale small enough to allow extreme precision—every ounce of every cask changes the overall character of these blends, as does the barrel in which each is aged. Each release is blended slightly differently and married in single casks, many of which were previously used for other spirits and/or wines.
Please note this bottle contains sediment from the barrel!
Blended around a base of 14-year-old Indiana whiskey while 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey and younger bourbon and rye add complexity. DJX1 was finished in casks that previously held Sercial Madeira Cask, which a dry, perfumy sort of Madeira.
