Chateau Bernadotte 2011 Haut-Medoc

"(52% cabernet sauvignon, 43% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot): Bright red. Aromatic nose of red berries, sweet spices, cedar and dusty minerals. Sweet, soft and clean, with red berry flavors dominating. Finishes with harmonious acidity and very good length. This is the best vintage of Bernadotte in some time: in 2011 the higher clay content of the soil and the later-ripening site allowed this wine to develop very good intensity and depth of flavor. Though it may surprise some to read this, in 2011 Bernadotte is not really that far behind its much more famous stablemate Pichon-Lalande (both are owned by the Rouzaud family of Louis Roederer fame) in quality. This is one of the true sleepers of the vintage."  Ian D'Agata 90 Points in Vinous
