Cordero di Montezemolo 2015 Barolo Bricco Gattera

"The 2015 Barolo Gattera is ample and generous on the palate, with notable mid-palate volume and plenty of raciness. Succulent dark cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and spice fill out the wine's frame nicely. Here, too, the wine needs time for the tannins to soften. As is typically the case, the Gattera is the creamiest of the estate's Barolos. Even so, it has more than enough structure to develop well for a number of years. The 2015 is especially fine." Antonio Galloni 94 Points

"La Morra is generally known for slightly more accessible expressions, and this is the case with the beautifully velvety and rich 2015 Barolo Gattera that shows so well straight out of the gate. Fruit for this wine is sourced from two positions on either side of the landmark cedar of Lebanon tree that grows on the Cordero di Montezemolo property and can be seen far and wide across the appellation. The best clusters are selected for this wine. This Barolo shows richness and power with plenty of dark fruit nuances. The wine goes into botte for up to 20 months and then goes into bottle. In fact, this estate makes a point to age longer in glass so that the wines are more ready when they hit the market." Robert Parker 94 Points

"Aromas of French oak, exotic spice and camphor mingle with whiffs of baked plum. The dense, full-bodied palate offers prune, fleshy Marasca cherry, vanilla and coconut alongside tightly knit, close-grained tannins that leave an austere, drying finish." Wine Enthusiast 93 Points
