Donnhoff 2014 Pinot Brut

"Dönnhoff's hand-riddled 2014 Pinot Brut, disgorged after 50 months on the secondary yeast, offers a clear, fresh and subtle bouquet of ripe apples intertwined with stony notes. Wonderfully open and not that reductive, as so many sparkling wines are. On the palate, this is a bone-dry, firm and fresh, very pure and linear Sekt with remarkable finesse and delicate salinity on the firm and "naked" finish with sur lie and refreshing lemon juice aromas. This is a terribly pure but very food-friendly sparkling wine with 12% alcohol. Drink with freshwater fish! Of this first lot (L 1401), 1,387 bottles were disgorged in August 2019.
