It was 2010 when General Manager Nat Komes came up with the idea of creating a unique Halloween-themed wine to celebrate Flora Springs' century-old "ghost winery" in St. Helena. Since then, our Ghost Winery wines, small lots of estate-grown wines released annually in early autumn, have become some of our most sought-after offerings. In 2016 we’re excited to bring back three of our most popular labels from the Virginia-based artist who created our original Ghost Winery label, Wes Freed. Haunted Highway 29, Headless Horseman, and Dead Man’s Vineyard Party were selected from our archives and voted on by our 60K+ Facebook fans and social media followers. These re-released labels are now available on our 2013 Ghost Winery Red Blend as a limited-edition wine.
This case of 12 bottles contains four of each design.
This is all estate wine that has previously only been available from the winery. This is the first year they've released it. It is ready to drink now and is richer in fruit and softer in tannin than the Napa Cab,
The labels are designed by an artist in the music industry and were voted for online.
This Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend explodes with bewitching aromas of ripe black cherries, white pepper and sage, continuing with bold flavors of blackberries, boysenberries and cassis that wash over the mid-palate. Barrel aged in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels, the wine displays subtle accents of toasty oak, vanilla and a dusted chocolate component. The fine tannins end with a bright, fruit forwardness on the palate. This wine would be ideal paired with duck or wild game as well as a hearty stew.
52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 17% Syrah, 8% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
