Joseph Drouhin 2018 Côte-de-Beaune Rouge

Description

"Ripe and succulent, this red evokes cherry, raspberry, currant and spice flavors. A light earthy note chimes in as it plays out on the finish. Shows fine balance and length. Drink now through 2028." Wine Spectator 90 Points

"The 2018 Côte de Beaune Rouge comes from 13 different parcels from around the appellation and receives a minute amount of whole cluster. It offers punchy blackberry, raspberry and black olive scents on a nose that races from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly rustic tannins, good depth and fine balance. There is a simplicity to this wine, but that is actually its strength. Hints of white pepper appear on the finish. Recommended." Neal Martin 88 Points

"Offering up aromas of smoky plums, berries and spices, the 2018 Côte de Beaune is medium-bodied, supple and fleshy, with a generous core of fruit, melting tannins and succulent acids. A cuvée that's complemented by declassified barrels of young-vine Beaune and Beaune 1er Cru, it's a fine value." Robert Parker 88 Points
