L'Ecole no. 41 2011 Perigee Seven Hills Vineyard Walla Walla Washington

Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 20%, Cabernet Franc 10% Malbec 6%, Petit Verdot 4%

"....the flagship 2011 Estate Perigee is a rocking blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot that comes from the windblown loess soils of the Seven Hills Vineyard outside of Walla Walla. Concentrated, rich and with solid structure, this medium to full-bodied effort has classic black raspberry, cassis, lead pencil, toast and assorted spices to go with building tannin, solid mid-palate depth and impressive length. It will have over a decade of total longevity. This was another fine set of releases from proprietors Megan and Marty Clubb. One of the original estates in Walla Walla, their entire lineup is solid, and in most cases, represents value." Robert Parker 91 Points

"(60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 4% petit verdot): Dark, bright red. Aromas of blackberry, mulberry, cocoa powder, violet and licorice, along with a whiff of slightly raw oak. Densely packed and quite primary, showing a penetrating quality and a faintly medicinal character to the flavors of blackberry, raspberry and minerals. Finishes with excellent juicy length and grip, but the tannins will need several years of aging to soften." Stephen Tanzer 91+ Points "Supple, generous and graceful, with an interesting grapefruit peel note adding charm to the polished blackberry and dark chocolate flavors, lingering engagingly. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2019. " Wine Spectator 91 Points
