"Broad and generous, layered with rich cherry, currant, smoke, roasted red pepper and floral flavors that meld seamlessly into a long and expressive finish." Wine Spectator 92 Points
The Sineann 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Baby Poux Vineyard hails from a parcel of Champoux Vineyard that acquired its affectionate nickname on account of being the first that Paul Champoux planted after taking over what was then Mercer Ranch, and from which Rosback is able to render an especially approachable style of Cabernet due, he thinks, more to the genetic background of these particular vines than to any terroir difference. Incense-like resinous herbal as well as citrus oil aromas mingle with those of cooked mulberry and cassis, presaging a concentratedly ripe as well as pungent and piquant palate, leading to a sustained finish tinged with toast, caramel and faintly grainy tannin from barrel. I would want to monitor this carefully if planning to hold it for longer than 3-4 years.
