Star Hill Farm Wheat Whiskey marks a significant milestone for Maker’s Mark, introducing their first new mashbill in over 70 years and their inaugural wheat whiskey. This 2025 release is a testament to the distillery's commitment to innovation and sustainability, crafted entirely without corn to let the soft red winter wheat shine.

🌾 Mashbill & Aging
The whiskey is a blend of two mashbills:

70% soft red winter wheat and 30% malted barley

100% malted soft red winter wheat

This combination results in a final composition of 61% wheat, 20% malted wheat, and 19% malted barley. The spirits were distilled and barreled in 2016 and 2017, aged for 7–8 years, and bottled at cask strength (114.7 proof / 57.35% ABV) .

👃 Tasting Notes
Aroma: Buttery caramel, golden raisins, and gingerbread

Palate: Honeyed toffee, chocolate-covered cherries, and a hint of apple pie spice

Finish: Smooth and inviting with notes of toasted pecans and soft cinnamon .

Star Hill Farm Wheat Whiskey is the first spirit to carry the Estate Whiskey Certification from the University of Kentucky's Estate Whiskey Alliance, highlighting its production entirely on the distillery's estate using grains from estate-owned or controlled land . Maker’s Mark has also committed to transitioning one million acres of farmland to regenerative agriculture by 2028, emphasizing their dedication to environmental stewardship .
