A playful and textural orange wine, Le Cigare Orange beautifully balances bright citrus and stone fruit with refreshing tang and dry minerality. It’s vivid, easy-drinking, and intriguingly complex.
Crafted by Bonny Doon Vineyard, a visionary Central Coast winery founded by Randall Grahm—pioneers of California Rhone varietals and quirky wine culture.
The 2023 vintage blends grape varieties meticulously sourced and vinified:
52% Grenache Blanc (Beeswax & Windfall)
42% Grenache Gris (Loma Del Rio)
6% Orange Muscat (Carrasco)
Vinified via skin-contact maceration (4–5 days cold soak, then 8–10 days fermentation), pressed into stainless steel and fermented to dryness, with minimal sulfur added only at bottling.
Appearance & Aroma: Hauntingly aromatic, with bright tangerine blossom, apricot, and citrus peel, highlighted by hints of bergamot and white flowers.
Palate: Juicy, textural, and vibrant—flavors of peach skin, apricot, melon, and dried orange, underscored by dried flowers, honeycomb, and a subtle herbal lift.
Finish: Medium-bodied with lively acidity, a chalky, mineral edge, and refined fresh tannins adding structure and length.
