Return Policy

PRODUCT RETURN
Under California law, it is illegal to accept returns of wine/alcohol once sold, unless the product is defective. Although infrequent, corked wine or otherwise flawed bottles do occur, and we are happy to offer a replacement bottle or store credit. Please note, the return of any bottle suspected of flaw must be made within 14 (fourteen) days of receipt of product and must have manager inspection and verification before any action is taken.

OLDER VINTAGES
We are committed to ensuring proper temperature-controlled storage and provenance of all our bottles. However, we can not be responsible for bottles older than 5 (five) years from the current vintage. No refunds/replacements will be offered on these bottles.

INTERNATIONAL RETURNS
Under California law, it is illegal to accept returns of wine/alcohol once sold, unless the product is defective. All International alcohol orders that are returned as a result of non-payment of country-specific Customs Duties and Taxes will result in a 25% surcharge, plus the cost of the return shipping, with no exceptions. If you commit to the order, pay your taxes!

INCORRECT ADDRESS/FAILURE TO RECEIVE PRODUCT
The customer or purchaser is responsible for any shipping charges for items returned as a result of an error in the address, or if someone 21 years of age or older is not available to sign for the bottle(s).

DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
Contact us within 5 days of receipt of shipment if there is any damage to the product. If you opted for the PackagePlus shipping protection plan, you can file a claim on your own or contact us via email for assistance. Damage claims made outside of 5 business days after receipt of items will not be accepted. 
Returns must be shipped back via FedEx using a return label provided by Blackwell's Wines. And must be shipped within 2 weeks (14 days) from the day the return shipping label is emailed to customer. Packages shipped after the two weeks, forfeit eligibility for refund. 

PACKAGING/LABEL CHANGES BY MANUFACTURER
We sell the product not the label - and do not accept returns for packaging changes. Manufacturers are constantly updating their products with changes big and small - without notification. It would be a larger or different font, a screw cap instead of a cork, a different label color, etc. We try to update the website with these changes as quickly as possible but sometimes there is a delay. If you are seeking a specific label or packaging release, we suggest you give us a call or send an email to confirm BEFORE you place your order. Or at least place a message in the notes section if you are looking for a specific release/packaging.
