Shipping Policy

HOLIDAY SHIPPING UPDATE - PLEASE READ

Due to increased volume over the holiday season, shipments will be processed within 2-4 business days**, and then shipped out according to selected shipping method/time.
-Please add a buffer of 1-3 days to your shipping needs to account for weather and holiday volume.
-Please add the 2-4 days processing time to the shipping transit time.

If you require delivery within 24 hours or have a time sensitive deadline, please contact us at cheers@blackwellswines.com or via phone at 415.386.9463 or 415.306.7996 to make specific arrangements. Please be sure to include your order number, name and request if leaving a message.

FEDEX GROUND: please note that Ground transit time estimates are not guaranteed, and often delayed by 1-3 days during the holiday season due to high volume and inclement weather.

FEDEX EXPRESS: please note that while FedEx makes all attempts to deliver packages in a timely fashion, inclement weather during the winter season can cause delays.

DELAYS: please be assured that we make it a priority to fulfill all orders in a timely and expedient fashion during the holiday season and always. However, weather and volume sometimes make this a more challenging goal. If there happens to be a delay with FedEx, we are unfortunately unable to offer any recourse such as a shipping fee refund.

ADULT (21 YEARS OR OLDER) SIGNATURE AT TIME OF DELIVERY: please make sure that you will be available at time of delivery, as adult signature (21years or older with identification) is required. Sending your package to your office or place of business if a great option.

GIFT BOXES/PACKAGING: We inspect all gift packaging and bottles prior to packing. We make every attempt to preserve the integrity of all the products and packaging - however the transit process can be a little rough sometimes. We are not responsible for any gift boxes or packaging that is rendered imperfect due to the transit process.

SPECIAL REQUESTS/DEADLINES: please communicate any specific needs or deadlines you have with us as soon as you place your order. This will allow us to best help you. If we don't know, we can't help.

 

SHIPPING POLICY
We try to keep our shipping prices as low as possible! But bottles are heavy, and require special packing material. Keep in mind that some bottles or gift sets weigh more than others!

Legal Age Requirement
Any shipment of alcohol must be signed for by an adult that is 21 years or older. No exceptions. 
Alcohol shipments are sent with an "Adult Signature Required" stipulation, and the common carrier used for delivery is required to ask for and verify ID before delivering merchandise. Many of our customers select to have shipments sent to a business address in lieu of a residential address to avoid missed delivery attempts.

Returned Shipments 
It is the recipient's responsibility to receive the shipment in a timely matter. If for whatever reason the shipment is returned back to sender, the outbound shipping fee is non-refundable. Additionally, customers may incur additional charges for cost of return of shipment.

Interstate Shipping
All merchandise from Blackwell's Wines & Spirits is sold in California and title passes to buyer in California. By placing your order, you authorize Blackwell's Wines & Spirits to engage a common carrier on your behalf to deliver the merchandise to your specified address. We make no representation as to the legal right of anyone to ship or import wines into any state or country outside of California. When selecting to ship to another state, you assume all responsibility for determining whether you may lawfully import alcoholic beverages into that state. As interstate shipping laws are continually changing, please check with an appropriate agency before placing your order.

Please note that interstate and international shipments may incur additional taxes and tariffs from the final destination location. These additional fees are  the responsibility of the customer.

-We process shipments Monday-Friday.
-Please be sure to add 1-2 business days of Processing Time** to the transit speed selected. (The FedEx generated delivery date does not include this - we are currently working to resolve this issue.)
-If you are on deadline, please email or call - or make a note in your order.
-Ground shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed by FedEx or Blackwell's Wines & Spirits.
-Express shipping methods are recommended for shipments with more rigid deadlines and time schedules.
-If you have an overnight delivery - please give us a call or send an email to confirm details, and ensure timely shipment.
-Please note: FedEx EXPRESS is typically delivered Monday-Friday (special arrangements must be made for Saturday delivery). FedEx GROUND is typically delivered Tuesday-Saturday.
-We sell fine wine & spirits - not museum collectibles. We inspect all bottles prior to shipment for fill-level and quality of labels/packaging. The transit process is not always gentle and slight wear on the packaging may occur. Please note there is no refund/discount for this.

**PROCESSING TIME:
Please note that while our typical processing time is 1-2 business days, during the holiday season that can be extended to 2-4 business days due to increased volume. If you are having a package sent via overnight, or have a tight deadline, please give us a call or send an email to ensure that we can work with your timeline.
