PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Boingnères Armagnac Réserve Spéciale is a classic Bas-Armagnac that beautifully captures the traditional character of one of France’s most revered brandy houses. Powerful yet refined, it offers a vibrant combination of fresh fruit, subtle oak, citrus peel, and savory complexity. Bottled at high proof and crafted with minimal intervention, this Armagnac delivers depth, structure, and authenticity—making it a favorite among connoisseurs who appreciate the distinctive intensity of traditional Gascon brandy.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Domaine Boingnères is considered one of the benchmark producers of Bas-Armagnac, the most prestigious subregion of Armagnac in southwest France. The estate was founded in 1807 and remains family-owned, currently led by Martine Lafitte, a fifth-generation producer dedicated to preserving traditional distillation methods.
The vineyards lie in the commune of Le Frêche, where sandy and limestone soils provide ideal conditions for cultivating grapes destined for distillation. The estate farms about 21 hectares, planted primarily with Folle Blanche, along with Colombard and Ugni Blanc—classic varieties prized for producing aromatic, high-acid wines suitable for Armagnac production.
Réserve Spéciale is a carefully composed blend of Armagnacs aged approximately five to ten years in French oak barrels.
Key production details include:
The result is a brandy that emphasizes fruit freshness, minerality, and structure rather than excessive sweetness or heavy oak influence.
