Bomberger's Distillery operated in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania — in Lebanon County, a short distance from Lancaster — beginning in 1753, when brothers John and Michael Shenk established the first distillery on a site that would operate under various names across two and a half centuries of American history. Under the Bomberger family's ownership in the 19th century, the distillery became one of the most celebrated producers of Pennsylvania whiskey.
