Bib & Tucker "Double Char" Bourbon Whiskey

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

44% ABV, 750 ml

The Whiskey Wash: "Bib & Tucker Small Batch recently announced the release of their newest Double Char Bourbon.

A statement from the whiskey brand described the new bourbon as inspired by the turn of the century, when food was cooked on an open flame. And in this fashion, their new bourbon is aged twice to create smoky notes along with a smooth finish.

The distiller noted that Bib & Tucker Double Char is aged in Tennessee for six years in new, white American oak. Then aged a minimum of five months in a second, heavily charred and smoked new barrel.

“I can’t wait for consumers to try this delicious expression,” said Tom Steffanci, president of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits. “Double Char spends just the right amount of time in the second heavily charred barrel, creating a savory, smoky character that adds a whole new dimension to the bourbon.”

Steffanci explained that as a Tennessee bourbon, Bib & Tucker follows the Lincoln County process that’s unique to the state. “Meaning all our bourbon is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before going into the barrel for aging,” he added.

For the true “Double Char,” and to pay homage to the Lincoln County process, the second barrel in this whiskey’s process is smoked with sugar maple before being filled with their six-year bourbon.
