Origins & Craftsmanship

• Distilled by Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas, the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas.

• The whiskey is aged a total of seven years: approximately four years in new American white-oak bourbon barrels, followed by roughly three years of finishing in used rye-whiskey barrels.

• Bottled at 108 proof (54% ABV), and hand-sealed with distinctive ruby-red wax.

• The name “Sonora” pays tribute to the natural wonder of the Caverns of Sonora in Texas, and part of the proceeds supports its conservation.

Tasting Profile

• Nose: Rich and inviting, with sweet Texas corn, warm vanilla bean and toasted oak at the fore. Beneath these emerge notes of rye spice, citrus zest (lemon peel or orange), almond tea and wildflower honey.

• Palate: Medium-full body, dense and layered. Opening with cracked black pepper and cinnamon, it rolls into caramelized brown sugar sweetness, roasted nuts and deep charred oak. The rye-barrel finish introduces a crisp spice edge and a hint of citrus-driven brightness.

• Finish: Long, warm and slightly dry. The finish leaves lingering brown sugar and crème brûlée undertones, set against a backdrop of seasoned oak and baking spice. The mixture of sweetness and dryness makes for an engaging after-taste.
