Origins & Craftsmanship
Woodinville Whiskey Company, based in Washington State, produces this expression starting from their standard straight bourbon—typically matured in American white-oak barrels from locally-sourced grains (72% corn, 22% rye, 7% malted barley). After primary maturation (around 4–5 years or more), the whiskey is transferred into ruby port wine casks from Portugal’s Douro Valley for additional finishing (roughly six months). The finishing step imparts wine-barrel influence, deepening the colour, fleshing out the fruit notes, and adding richness to the profile. Bottled at approximately 45% ABV (90 proof) for the port-cask expression.
