PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Delord XO Bas-Armagnac is an elegant and deeply refined French brandy—a Bas-Armagnac for those who appreciate subtlety, depth and French terroir over sheer power. It offers a rich tapestry of dried fruit, gentle spice and nutty rancio character, anchored by oak and age.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Produced by the historic Maison Delord in the Bas-Armagnac region of southwest France, this XO expression is a blend of eaux-de-vie matured for a minimum of 15 years in oak barrels (and in some descriptions blended from much older stocks). The house uses traditional column stills and ages in the distinctive soils of Bas-Armagnac—famous for its sandy, silica-rich terroir. The result is a spirit that reflects age, place and craft, bottled at 40% ABV.
Critics Reviews
Wine Enthusiast praised the spirit for its “enticing and complex, velvety” nature with “fresh flower, hay, fig and vanilla” aromas.
Another review highlights it as “an exceptional XO [that] displays a masterful balance of ripe fruit, wood and buttery orange pound cake… smooth and deep with a wealth of rancio.”
According to a detailed tasting journey, notes such as “raisins, dried fig, vanilla, a hint of licorice, dark chocolate and white pepper” emerge as the brandy opens.

Tasting Profile
Nose: Opens with rich aromas of caramelised sugar, vanilla bean, and prune, evolving into dried apricot, walnut shell and faint nutmeg. A subtle under-note of “rancio” nutty oxidation and old oak emerges.
Palate: Silky yet structured—dried plum and fig compote, toasted almond and hazelnut, soft leather and brown sugar, with a gentle under-layer of spice (clove, white pepper) and soft oak tannin.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering echoes of prunes, walnut skin, sweet wood spice and delicate mineral soil note—a signature of Bas-Armagnac’s terroir.
