PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Adrien Camut “Rareté” Calvados represents the absolute pinnacle of the Camut family’s cellar—a breathtaking blend of extraordinarily old apple brandies drawn from some of the oldest barrels in Normandy. With components ranging from 50 to nearly 100 years old, this ultra-rare Calvados delivers profound depth and elegance: preserved orchard fruit, walnut-like rancio, exotic vanilla, and polished oak spice. Silky and contemplative, it is less a spirit than a piece of liquid history, showcasing what decades of patient maturation can achieve in the world of Calvados.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Adrien Camut Calvados is produced at Domaine de Semainville in the Calvados Pays d’Auge region of Normandy, where the Camut family has been cultivating orchards and distilling apple brandy for generations. The estate’s orchards contain traditional hautes-tiges apple trees, planted widely apart and grown for low yields and exceptional fruit quality.
The apples are harvested at full maturity and pressed into cider, which undergoes slow fermentation for roughly 10–11 months in wooden vessels before distillation.
Following the rules of the Pays d’Auge appellation, the cider is double-distilled in wood-fired copper pot stills, producing a richly aromatic apple eau-de-vie.
The Rareté cuvée is assembled from the very oldest barrels in the Camut cellar—a blend of Calvados aged a minimum of 50 years, with some components approaching 100 years old.
The spirit is aged in large Limousin oak vats and tonneaux, which are intentionally filled only partially to encourage slow oxidation and concentration. No new oak is used, ensuring that the wood influence remains subtle and that the apple character remains the defining feature even after many decades.
The finished blend is bottled at 40% ABV, offering remarkable balance between mature complexity and preserved fruit expression.

" One of the greatest and most exclusive spirits on the planet from a domaine that exceeds all expectations. Calling this merely rare is an understatement. Not only is all the brandy blended for this bottling between fifty to one hundred years old but the flavors themselves reach the pinnacle of what Calvados can offer. Allocations are extremely limited."
A highly-respected grower with one of the best collections of old Calvados around, normally showing notes of baked apples and licorice. — Decanter
