This white Port hails from the renowned house of Fonseca in Portugal’s Douro Valley. It’s crafted from a blend of traditional white Port grape varieties—predominantly Malvasia Fina, with Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato and Arinto in supporting roles. The grapes come from higher-altitude, cooler vineyards, which help preserve fresh acidity and vibrant aromatics. To achieve its extra-dry finish, the must is allowed to ferment longer than typical Ports before fortification, reducing residual sugar. The wine is then aged in small oak vats, imparting texture and subtle wood nuance without overshadowing the fruit.
