PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Orin Swift’s 2023 "8 Years in the Desert" is a bold and expressive California red blend that captures both richness and finesse. With lush black fruit, warm spice, and smooth tannins accentuated by bright acidity, it balances hedonistic fruit with structural balance, making it both indulgent and inviting.
A proprietary mix of Zinfandel (≈56%), Petite Sirah (≈34%), and Syrah (≈10%).
Aged 7 months in French oak, about 35% new, to support ripe fruit with a frame of vanilla, spice, and structure.
Opens with a dark, alluring presence: blackberry bramble, raspberry, and black plum preserves, laced with espresso bean, allspice, and black pepper.
Rich and inviting: flavors of berry morning buns, black plum jam, and mixed berry dominate, with supporting notes of sweet oak spice. The wine remains plush and energetic, carried by seamless acidity.
The structure is anchored by soft, textured tannins, giving a polished, persistent finish.
