Martin Miller’s Westbourne Strength Gin bridges tradition and cocktail innovation. Its structured citrus juniper core—with cucumber freshness and warm spice—makes it a stellar choice for stirred drinks and elevated gin and tonics alike. At a higher proof, it maintains elegance while offering presence—perfect for both cocktail purists and adventurous mixologists.
This is the 45.2% ABV “Strength” variant of Martin Miller’s London Dry Gin, created in direct response to bartender demand for a more robust version that stands up in traditional cocktails. It features the same botanical recipe as their Original Gin and is distilled in England, "cut to proof" with glacial-filtered Icelandic water
The botanical lineup includes Tuscan juniper, Seville orange peel, lemon peel, coriander, cassia bark, clove, nutmeg, angelica, orris, licorice root, and more.
A unique multi-distillation process is used: one batch macerates the heavier botanicals, another focuses on citrus, and a final “cucumber” distillation adds freshness. These are combined before dilution.
Bright and complex—dry juniper and citrus zest lead, layered with hints of blood orange, cucumber, honeyed sultana, rose water, and a faint touch of cassia or peppery spice.
On the palate: dominant orange and lime peel, followed by herbaceous cucumber, warmed by peppery nutmeg and coriander spice.
Texture is silky, medium-bodied, with pleasing viscosity and a rounded mouthfeel.
The finish is long, dry, and crisp, with lingering citrus bitterness, warm herbal spice, and a refreshing, mineral-driven closure that accentuates its cocktail-ready profile.
Higher proof amplifies botanical intensity and enhances structure—ideal for gin-forward drinks.
Balanced yet expressive, it offers contemporary cucumber-citrus flair alongside classic gin spice backbone.
Frequently praised by bartenders for depth without losing cocktail versatility.

"This Westbourne Strength gin from Martin Miller was created a few years after its original 40% version was released in 1999. The botanicals for both gins are the same, but the proportions differ. The gin is pot-distilled in England with two different distillations of the botanicals plus a wheat-based neutral spirit. The first is distilled after macerating the spices and earthy roots. The second is distilled with just the citrus peels. These two are blended together before a cucumber distillation is added. The gin is finally brought down to proof with Icelandic water, which in this case is bottled at 45.2% ABV." The Distiller
