PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Brio de Cantenac Brown 2019 Margaux is the polished and approachable second wine of the historic Château Cantenac Brown. It captures the signature elegance of the Margaux appellation with vibrant red fruit, floral lift, and silky tannins, while offering earlier drinkability than the grand vin. The outstanding 2019 vintage gives the wine extra richness and depth, delivering a refined Bordeaux that balances charm, freshness, and structure.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Brio de Cantenac Brown is produced by the prestigious Château Cantenac Brown, a Third Growth estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification located in the Margaux appellation of the Médoc.
The wine is crafted from carefully selected parcels within the estate’s gravel soils. These Médoc gravel terraces are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and contribute aromatic complexity and refined tannins typical of Margaux wines.
Unlike the château’s grand vin, Brio is designed to be more approachable in its youth while still expressing the estate’s terroir. The lots destined for Brio are vinified separately and aged with a more restrained use of new oak—generally about 20% new barrels—to emphasize freshness and fruit purity.
The 2019 vintage blend is approximately:
48% Merlot
42% Cabernet Sauvignon
10% Cabernet Franc
After fermentation, the wine is matured for about 12 months in French oak barrels, creating subtle spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit.
