The 2023 Famille Lançon La Solitude Côtes du Rhône Rouge is a vibrant and expressive red wine that embodies the rich heritage of the Southern Rhône Valley. Crafted from a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre, this wine showcases the classic varietals of the region.
On the nose, it offers enticing aromas of concentrated, ripe red berry fruits, complemented by subtle notes of black pepper and spice. The palate is supple and rounded, supported by a delicate tannic structure that adds depth and complexity. The finish is opulent and charming, leaving a lasting impression.
The grapes are sourced from stony, limestone, and clay soils typical of the Southern Rhône, with over 50% coming from Côtes du Rhône Villages vineyards and the remainder from named parcels such as Plan de Dieu and Rasteau. The winemaking process involves full destemming, fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, and gentle extraction techniques like pumping over to retain the purity of fruit and achieve velvety tannins. The wine is matured entirely in concrete tanks, adhering to traditional vinification methods of the region.
