Alma Tepec Licor de Chile Pasilla Mixe is a vibrant celebration of Oaxacan tradition, capturing the essence of the rare Pasilla Mixe chile grown at 5,000 feet in the Sierra Mixe mountains. These chiles are vine-ripened to a deep crimson, then smoke-dried using mesquite or oak in traditional bamboo and clay ovens, imparting a rich, smoky character. The chiles are macerated in a sugarcane spirit for 6 to 12 months and lightly sweetened with cane sugar, resulting in a liqueur that offers a harmonious blend of smoky mesquite, rich caramelized red fruits, and warm spices like cinnamon and clove, all balanced by a gentle, lingering heat.

"Deep in the remote Sierra Mixe (“mee-hay”) mountains of Oaxaca, the indigenous Mixe people grow one of the rarest chiles in the world, the Pasilla Mixe chile. The chiles are matured in the field until they ripen to a deep crimson color. Next, they are smoke-dried in earth ovens.
