The Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé 2015 is both sophisticated and expressive—combining bold fruit character with elegant structure. Its finely tuned balance of depth, spice, acidity, and texture make it stand out in the vintage rosé category.
This is a Champagne that can be enjoyed now for its richness and aromatic elegance—but it also holds up beautifully with time, revealing even more complexity in the coming years.
The Grand Vintage Rosé 2015 is the 45th vintage rosé in Moët & Chandon’s prestigious collection, reflecting the unique character of the 2015 harvest.
Crafted from a blend of 52% Pinot Noir, 27% Chardonnay, and 21% Pinot Meunier, this cuvée captures both power and elegance.
The 2015 growing season was marked by intense sunshine and drought, tempered by August rains that enabled ripening—yielding grapes with depth, ripeness, and aging potential.
Opens with dark berries, notably wild strawberry and fig, adorned with spicy accents like pink peppercorn and allspice, and a lingering hint of garrigue florals.
Described as rich and vinous, with excellent persistence. Aromas of crushed raspberry, rose petals, and blood orange contribute elegance and exotic depth.
Wine Spectator praises its sleek, tawny-hued profile and fine-acidity mousse, delivering flavors of plum skin, macerated raspberry, toasted almond, pink grapefruit zest, and oyster shell.
Jeb Dunnuck highlights its deep pink/magenta hue, and notes of fresh fennel spice, blood orange, graham cracker, and cranberry preserves, along with a chalky, structured finish that suggests further aging potential.
The palate is concentrated and deep, with tannic edges that create intriguing “angles”—described by one source as a “jewel in the rough.” A bittersweet blend of sloe and cranberry, accented by mint and anise, refreshes the finish.
Wine Enthusiast’s tasting note underscores the Champagne’s toasty character, coupled with dry freshness and a zesty orange peel nuance.
