The 2024 Edition of BLACKENED Whiskey’s Rye The Lightning is a blend of straight rye whiskeys (95% rye) and double cask finished in Madeira and rum casks. Bottled at 92 proof and non-chill filtered.
Rob Dietrich sought to replicate the profile of the 2022 Edition, which was ranked as #14 in Whiskey Advocate’s Top 20 Whiskeys of the World in 2022. For the 2024 Edition, Rob individually selected and blended high rye whiskeys and then tailored the double-cask finishing to achieve an exceptional flavor profile. The different mash bills and provenance of the whiskey bring a unique spin to this latest edition.
