Origins & Craftsmanship

Hochar Père et Fils is produced by Château Musar, one of the most iconic wineries in the Middle East. Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, the estate gained international acclaim for its distinctive wines and resilience during Lebanon’s civil war years.

The Hochar Père et Fils label serves as a companion wine to the estate’s flagship Château Musar bottling, designed to be more approachable and ready to drink earlier while still reflecting the house style.

The 2020 vintage is a blend of classic Mediterranean and Bordeaux varieties:

  • Cinsault
  • Grenache
  • Cabernet Sauvignon

These grapes are grown in vineyards near the village of Aana in the Bekaa Valley, a high-altitude plateau between mountain ranges known for abundant sunshine, cool nights, and ideal vine-growing conditions.

Winemaking follows Musar’s traditional, low-intervention philosophy:

  • Fermentation in cement vats
  • Gentle maceration for structure and complexity
  • Aging for about six months in French oak barrels before bottling

The finished wine typically reaches about 13–13.5% ABV, offering balance between fruit richness and fresh acidity.
