The Produttori del Barbaresco 2020 Barbaresco Riserva – Muncagota is an artful expression of Piedmontese Nebbiolo—this Riserva delivers striking aromatic precision and refined structure. With elegant red fruit framed by mint, forest floor, and subtle balsamic accents, it offers a captivating balance of tension and ripe richness.
Produced by the esteemed cooperative Produttori del Barbaresco, founded in 1958 to elevate Barbaresco’s Nebbiolo tradition.
This Riserva comes from the Muncagota cru, known for its calcareous limestone soil, southeast exposure, and naturally concentrated fruit.
Aged for at least 30 months in large oak barrels, followed by a further 9 months in bottle before release.
Appearance: Rich ruby with garnet highlights.
Aroma: Gracefully complex—lifted redcurrant and rosemary notes mingle with eucalyptus, balsamic camphor, and forest-floor accords.
Palate: Medium-bodied, fresh and energetic—showing blackberry, plum, star anise, cherry, white pepper, and crushed mint, all shaped by finely defined tannins.
Finish: Persistent and savory, with mineral-laced acidity, saline grip, and nuances of apricot, citrus, and licorice echoing long after the final sip.
