Origins & Craftsmanship

Crafted at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, Planteray Cut & Dry takes an artisanal path: fully ripe coconuts are cut by hand and dried under the Caribbean sun, concentrating their natural oils. These coconuts are then infused into a 100% Barbadian rum base, distilled on-island, creating an authentic flavor foundation. The brand underwent a recent name evolution (from Plantation Rum to Planteray Rum) but retained the same dedication to quality and terroir-driven rum making. The final spirit is bottled at 40% ABV.

Tasting Profile

Nose: Hit by a rich coconut-flesh aroma—fresh macaroons, toasted coconut flakes, vanilla cream and a touch of milk-chocolate emerge first. Beneath lies a slight tropical fruit hint (pineapple or banana) and subtle toasted-nut warmth.
Palate: Smooth and creamy entry; the coconut remains central, layered with vanilla, milk chocolate and a whisper of raw sugarcane sweetness. Mid-palate brings gentle spice—white pepper or cinnamon—and a faint oak note that grounds the sweetness.
