Ron Carúpano’s 21-Year Reserva Privada is a deeply mature, elegant Venezuelan rum offering layers of dried fruit, fine oak, baking spice and luxurious texture. Smooth, complex and contemplative, it’s crafted for sipping and stands among the most refined ultra-aged Latin American rums.
Ron Carúpano is one of Venezuela’s most historic distilleries, located in the Carúpano Valley—an environment prized for stable tropical temperatures ideal for long rum maturation.
This 21-year-old Reserva Privada is drawn from sealed American white-oak barrels, aged without replenishing the angel’s share, ensuring high concentration and depth. Made from premium sugar-cane distillates and aged in small lots, it is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
The meticulous aging regimen, combined with Carúpano’s tropical climate, produces remarkable richness with retained elegance.
A professional tasting panel praised the 21-year expression for its “deep golden colour, warm oak, molasses and baking spices, lifted by notes of banana bread and black cherry.”

Nose: Deep amber-gold. Aromas of dried fruits (raisins, dates), coconut, orange peel, warm spices, toasted oak and subtle mocha.
Palate: Medium-to-full bodied with rich notes of caramelized sugar, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, dried fruit and warm wood spice. Balanced by a refined, slightly dry oak structure.
Finish: Long, elegant and subtly bittersweet—oak tannin, dried fruit and spice linger with excellent clarity.
