Crafted in Guatemala by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala (distributed by Diageo), Zacapa 23 uses the first-press “virgin sugar cane honey” instead of molasses, then aged using the solera system, blending rums aged 6–23 years
Uniquely matured at high altitude (~2,300 m above sea level), where the cooler climate slows evaporation, concentrating flavors
Opens with soft sweet notes: caramel, vanilla, cacao, butterscotch; evolving into sherried richness with caramelized Brazil nuts, toasted hazelnut, toffee, banana, and dried pineapple
