Kilchoman’s 100% Islay range is their expression of farm-to-bottle whisky: barley grown on their own Rockside Farm on Islay, malted, distilled, matured, and bottled on site. The 15th Edition continues that tradition, emphasizing the distillery’s commitment to terroir, transparency, and Islay identity.
The 15th Edition is a vatted release of 54 ex-bourbon barrels, drawn from spirit distilled in 2014 and 2015 using Concerto and Publican barley varieties. It is matured exclusively in bourbon casks, rather than including sherry or other cask types. The whisky is bottled at 50.0% ABV and carries a measured peat level (around 20 ppm in the malt stage). 700 ml bottle.
On the nose, expect a fragrant interplay of:
Vanilla and toasted oak
Tropical and orchard fruits (pear, citrus)
Fresh hay or grassy notes
A soft salted butter or sea spray nuance
Gentle smoke in the background

This 15th Edition leans slightly more toward richness and depth compared to some earlier 100% Islay releases. The exclusive use of bourbon casks helps preserve clean fruit and vanilla tones rather than overlaying strong sherry influence. The peat is present and bold but integrated—providing a smoky backbone rather than dominating entirely.
