PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A powerful yet polished single-barrel Bas-Armagnac that puts the Baco grape’s depth and structure front and center. The 2010 Barrel #65 from Domaine Louis Dupuy is richly textured, fruit-driven, and unapologetically expressive, offering concentrated character balanced by thoughtful aging and natural intensity.
Produced in the Bas-Armagnac cru of southwestern France, Domaine Louis Dupuy is known for traditional, small-scale Armagnac that prioritizes varietal expression and single-cask individuality. This 2010 vintage is distilled predominantly from Baco blanc, a historic hybrid grape cherished in Armagnac for its resilience, depth of flavor, and exceptional aging potential.
After fermentation, the wine was distilled in a classic alambic Armagnacais column still, preserving weight, texture, and fruit concentration. The spirit then matured for over a decade in Gascon oak, developing complexity through slow oxidation and wood integration. Bottled from Barrel #65 without dilution, this release retains its natural strength, color, and structure — a pure snapshot of cask and vintage.
Armagnac enthusiasts and spirits reviewers consistently praise Domaine Louis Dupuy’s single-barrel bottlings for their honesty, intensity, and terroir transparency. Baco-driven vintages like this 2010 are often highlighted for their bold fruit core, muscular structure, and ability to absorb oak influence gracefully without losing identity — qualities that resonate strongly with collectors and seasoned brandy drinkers.
Nose:
Dense aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and dried fig lead, followed by cocoa powder, toasted oak, and warm baking spices. Subtle earthy notes and dark caramel add depth.
Palate:
Full-bodied and concentrated, showing stewed stone fruit, molasses, vanilla bean, and dark chocolate. Baco’s signature structure brings firm tannins, black tea, and spiced oak, giving the palate both weight and balance.
Finish:
Long, warming, and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, oak spice, and a refined echo of cocoa and dried fruit sweetness.
