PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Long before Código 1530 Añejo had a name on a bottle, George Strait was already drinking it — a private, unlabeled tequila the country music legend enjoyed for years before it ever hit shelves. He liked it so much he wrote a song about it, and this Encore Edition, honoring his "Honky Tonk Time Machine" album, is the second in an ongoing series of limited collaborations between Strait and the brand. As Strait himself puts it, with the same confidence he brings to a headlining set: "if it's not your favorite, you haven't tried it."
Código 1530's Añejo is built on a private recipe refined over generations by an artisan distilling family in Amatitán, using 100% fully matured Blue Weber agave aged more than seven years in the field before harvest — well beyond what most tequila producers wait for. Water used throughout production comes from freshwater pools and rainwater, filtered naturally through the volcanic soil of Los Bajos. This particular Añejo rests 18 months in award-winning Napa Cabernet French oak barrels, a genuinely distinctive wine-cask finishing choice that sets Código 1530 apart from tequilas aged in more conventional ex-bourbon wood.
Customer reviews at Del Mesa Liquor have been consistently enthusiastic, with one calling it "the one of the smoothest tequilas around," another praising its "smoky rich flavor," placing it in their "top ten list," and a third simply noting: "this is a smooth tequila. It doesn't burn at all. It's so good." The official tasting notes describe the tequila as "refined, elegant and expressive," with "hints of fruit, mingled with oak, touches of vanilla and a bit of spice" carrying through to the finish. This is a genuinely well-crafted, collector-worthy Añejo — equally at home as a serious sipping tequila or as a display piece for any George Strait fan's bar.

The tequila is made from 100% fully matured Blue Weber agave, aged in the field for more than seven years before harvest, using water sourced from freshwater pools and rainwater, naturally filtered through the volcanic soil of Los Bajos.
This Encore Edition ages 18 months in award-winning Napa Cabernet French oak barrels — Código 1530's signature wine-cask finishing approach. The release commemorates George Strait's "Honky Tonk Time Machine" album, following the brand's earlier collaboration with the country music icon, who has favored Código 1530's Añejo as his personal go-to tequila for years.
