PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This 2025-edition of Springbank’s flagship 21-year-old single malt is a masterful balance of depth, elegance and Campbeltown character. The generous age, refined cask mix and long maturation yield a whisky that is simultaneously rich and poised — perfect for sipping slowly, reflecting its status as an exceptional milestone release.
Produced at the family-owned Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland, this bottle represents the distillery’s commitment to traditional floor-malting, double distillation (2½ times), and full onsite production from barley to bottle. The 2025 release is matured for 21 years, and the cask composition is approximately 65% port casks, 25% bourbon casks, 5% rum casks and 5% sherry casks. The spirit is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered, with natural colour — allowing maturity, barley character and maritime seasoning to shine through.
Whisky enthusiasts describe the 2025 release as “an inviting, creamy dram whose nose opens with Medjool dates and sticky-toffee pudding, followed by rich treacle, stewed plums and a burst of blood-orange zest, with subtle peat lingering in the background.”
Review commentary on the palate highlights “smoked figs, caramelised brown sugar, cigar-box oak, blackberries and a hint of Iberico ham,” reflecting the distinctive coastal and cask-driven profile.
Some aficionados note that the finish brings “banana bread, warm cinnamon-spice and a savoury, earthy note” that underlines the whisky’s extended maturation and Campbeltown terroir.
Nose: Warm golden-copper hue. Aromas of Medjool dates, sticky toffee pudding, treacle, stewed plums, blood-orange zest and a faint hint of peat smoke.
Palate: Medium-to-full body with layers of smoked figs, caramelised brown sugar, rich oak, cigar-box cedar, ripe blackberries and a whisper of Iberico ham. Coastal salt breeze and mature malt linger.
Finish: Long and refined — banana bread, cinnamon-spice warmth, savoury earthiness and a lingering hint of sea spray and oak tannin carry the experience to its close.
