PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Lana Tequila has quickly become a favorite among both connoisseurs and casual drinkers, and Reposado marks the brand's second release, following the launch of Lana Blanco. Co-founders Maximilian Arasin and Jonathan William Mikula — the latter a writer, actor, and producer — built Lana around a genuine artistic philosophy that extends well beyond the liquid itself: every bottle is topped with a cap crafted from genuine marble and onyx stone, meaning no two caps are ever exactly alike.
Made from 100% Blue Weber agave, grown five to seven years in Jalisco's Lowland Region, Lana is produced at Destilería Leyros, a facility responsible for 36 different tequila brands, including Casa Dragones and Casazul, operating under genuine sustainable practices that minimize water use, energy consumption, and waste. Reposado rests five months in American oak barrels, described by the brand itself as "the product of alchemy and time," developing "a sun-drenched amber hue and nuanced notes of vanilla and coconut" as "a poetic homage to both its predecessor and the grandeur of American Oak."
The results have earned genuine, independently judged recognition: 95 Points and Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, following Lana Blanco's own Double Gold and Best in Show win at the 2023 edition of the same competition. Spec's official tasting notes describe "aromas of cooked and raw agave" blending "with herbal tones and notes of baked apple," alongside "subtle nuances of vanilla, coconut and oak imparted by barrel aging," the mouthfeel "silky with luscious notes of vanilla and caramel complemented by accents of baked apple and orange peel," the finish "ultra-smooth, gently sweet and long-lasting." Best Tasting Spirits' independent review of the sibling Blanco expression — sharing the same base agave — found "roasted herbal agave, vanilla, lime, sea salt, and cinnamon spice, with floral notes" on the aroma, developing "sweet herbal agave, vanilla, and pear," with lime building "to an orange, and salted lime peak," fading "with herbal agave, orange zest, and roasted pear," closing with "sea salt, buttery agave, jalapeño pepper, and lime peel." This is genuinely well-crafted, award-winning tequila — real artistry in both the bottle and the liquid inside it.
Lana Tequila Reposado is produced at Destilería Leyros in Jalisco, Mexico, near the Tequila Volcano, co-founded by Maximilian Arasin and Jonathan William Mikula. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown five to seven years in Jalisco's Lowland Region, on volcanic soil. Destilería Leyros employs sustainable production practices, minimizing water use, energy consumption, and waste generation.
Following distillation, the tequila rests five months in American oak barrels. Each bottle is capped with a genuinely one-of-a-kind piece crafted from real marble and onyx stone, no two ever exactly alike. The tequila is gluten-free, vegan, and kosher. Bottled at 40% ABV / 80 proof, 750ml.
95 Points, Double Gold Medal — San Francisco World Spirits Competition, 2024
Lana Tequila (official tasting notes):
"Lana Reposado's body is luminous with hues of sun-kissed hay, touched by amber and gold. A radiant spectacle of time-honored traditions, age old. A divine composition, in the realm of scent. Authentic tones of cooked and raw agave with baked apple — a touch of fruit. Grounded in earthy, herbal notes with hints of vanilla, coconut and seasoned oak."
Best Tasting Spirits (extended independent review, house-style context, Lana Blanco base agave):
"The aroma leads with roasted herbal agave, vanilla, lime, sea salt, and cinnamon spice, with floral notes. The sweet herbal agave, vanilla, and pear entry has a soft water mouth feel. Lime arrives building to an orange, and salted lime peak. It fades with herbal agave, orange zest, and roasted pear, and finishes with sea salt, buttery agave, jalapeno pepper, and lime peel."
