Origins & Craftsmanship

Aberfeldy Distillery was founded in 1898 by John Alexander Dewar — the patriarch of the Dewar whisky dynasty whose ambition to craft a "gold standard single malt" with "no expense spared" gave the distillery both its founding philosophy and its nickname.
