Marbled Treasures is the 2025 offering in Diageo’s Special Releases series, titled Horizons Unbound. It is a 21-year expression, matured exclusively in Spanish oak ex-sherry casks (mainly Oloroso) over its full term.
This is a one-off, limited bottling—never before released from Dailuaine in this age and cask style. It is bottled at natural cask strength (about 54.8 % ABV, though some sources cite 54.3 %) and presented with no chill filtration or added color.
By choosing heavy sherry cask maturation, the makers sought dramatic flavor intensity and oxidative depth, allowing Dailuaine’s base character to harmonize with fortified wine richness and spice.

Tasting Profile

Nose: Deep and compelling—opening with Oloroso sherry, then evolving into sultanas, roast chestnuts, and cherries dipped in dark chocolate. Underlying that are hints of leather, tobacco leaf, and dried figs.
Palate: Creamy and mouth-filling, the palate begins with brown sugar crystals dissolving into espresso, then shifts into concentrated dried fruits and a dry, spicy pepperiness that spreads across the tongue.
Finish: Long and warming—ginger spice lingers, the sweetness recedes to a gentle caramelized edge, and a subtle flinty mineral note appears in the aftertaste.
