PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Adrien Camut “Réserve de Semainville” Calvados (25–30 Year Blend) is a magnificent, deeply mature apple brandy from one of Normandy’s most revered producers. With three decades of patient aging, it delivers remarkable complexity—layers of baked apple, honeyed richness, tobacco, and delicate oak spice—while still preserving the vibrant orchard character that defines great Calvados. Silky, contemplative, and profoundly elegant, it is a benchmark aged Calvados for serious collectors and after-dinner sipping.

Origins & Craftsmanship
This Calvados is produced at Domaine de Semainville in Normandy, France by the Camut family, seventh-generation distillers known for traditional, slow-aged Calvados from the prestigious Calvados Pays d’Auge AOC appellation.

The spirit begins with apples grown in the family’s orchards, many from heritage apple varieties cultivated in traditional high-stem (hautes-tiges) orchards. These apples are pressed into cider and fermented slowly in wood for roughly 10–11 months, allowing complex flavors to develop before distillation.

The cider is then double distilled in copper pot stills, a requirement of the Pays d’Auge appellation and a method that produces particularly aromatic apple brandy.

For the Réserve de Semainville, the Camut family blends Calvados aged between 25 and 30 years in oak casks.
The spirit matures primarily in large Limousin oak vats and tonneaux, often filled only partially to encourage slow oxidation and concentration of flavor while minimizing heavy wood influence.

The goal is to allow the apple distillate—not the barrel—to remain the dominant character even after decades of aging. The finished Calvados is typically bottled at around 40% ABV, maintaining balance and drinkability while preserving the complexity gained from extended maturation.
