Ardnamurchan doesn't work with a single "Master Blender" the way most distilleries do — instead, a six-person blending team decides collectively on every cask that makes it into a bottle. When that team noses a sample of a particularly characterful cask, they'll sometimes pull it aside specifically for a single cask release, a practice the distillery describes as "hearkening back to our Adelphi roots as a single-cask, cask-strength bottler." Ardnamurchan packages dozens of these individual releases every year, each entirely matured in one cask and typically bottled at natural cask strength — genuinely one-of-a-kind whisky, no blending for consistency, no attempt to replicate a house profile beyond the distillery's own underlying spirit character.
Cask 910 is one such release: unpeated Ardnamurchan spirit, distilled in 2018 and now seven years old, matured entirely in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at its full, undiluted cask strength — 59.7% ABV.
