When Booker Noe created the Jim Beam Small Batch Collection in 1992, he named four bourbons after the people and things that mattered most to him: his own name for the cask-strength Booker's, the limestone water for Knob Creek, an 18th-century ancestor for Basil Hayden's, and his cousin Baker Beam for this one. The name suited the bourbon: Baker's occupied a specific and understated space in the collection — not the highest proof, not the most widely known, not the loudest in the room, but consistently, stubbornly, quietly excellent.
In 2019, Jim Beam overhauled the brand. Nose
