Origins & Craftsmanship

Produced by the Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky, this special edition brings together a blend of straight bourbons aged 9–14 years from multiple states, then finished for approximately 17 months in ex-cabernet-sauvignon barrels formerly used by Silver Oak Cellars. The result is a unique “wine-cask finished” bourbon that maintains robust bourbon character while layering in refined wine-barrel nuance. Bottled at 54% ABV (108 proof), it reflects both intensity and elegance.

• A tasting review on Breaking Bourbon described the nose as “raspberry, black cherry, toffee and roasted nuts” and the palate as “dark cherry, blackberry, strawberry, seasoned oak and toffee”, finishing with tobacco and burnt brown sugar. The reviewer called it “a robust finished blend but remains closer to straight bourbon than wine‐barrel gimmick.”

Nose: Deep amber hue with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, plum, toasted oak, brown sugar and roasted nuts.
Palate: Full-bodied and layered—dark berries and fig, rich caramel and toffee, seasoned oak char, subtle cocoa and wine tannin undertones.
Finish: Long, warming with a dash of tobacco leaf and toasted oak, a hint of wine-barrel tannin, and lingering dark fruit and spice.
