PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Bisol is one of the oldest names in Valdobbiadene, the hill zone at the heart of Prosecco Superiore. The family traces its winemaking to 1542, and the winery is sustainably farmed and led today by Gianluca Bisol as President and CEO, alongside his brother Desiderio, chief enologist and technical director.

Crede is the winery's benchmark Brut. The name is the local dialect word for clay, the defining feature of the hillside soils where the grapes grow, about 250 meters above sea level. Clay holds water, which protects the vines in dry spells and helps the grapes develop what one critic described as a "rich, fine-grained acidity and delicate, floral notes." The blend is predominantly Glera (about 85 to 87.5%), rounded out each vintage with Chardonnay or Pinot Bianco and small amounts of Verdiso or Pinot Nero. Aging on the lees is brief before the second fermentation, and the wine is bottled at 11.5% ABV.

The style is fresh, linear, and mineral rather than sweet or heavy. The producer's notes describe "an intensely fruity nose of white peach and lychee, lifted by a delicate hint of anise," with a palate that is "fresh and linear, with well-balanced acidity and a clean, mineral finish." Wine Enthusiast scored it 91 Points, saying "this Prosecco brings the party without losing its elegance," with "jasmine, honeysuckle, and pink ginger" and "a twist of candied lemon peel," light-bodied with frothy bubbles. Wine Advocate scored an earlier vintage 90 Points, calling it "delightfully sharp and delineated," with "crisp citrus notes followed by white peach, Granny Smith apple and tangy lime." James Suckling's note on the 2022 describes "lightly spiced pears on the nose and palate," "dense fruit flavors with hints of nut cream and minerals," and "plenty of fizz." Another critic found it "wonderfully creamy in the mouth" with "plenty of ripe citrus, stone fruit, apple and mineral flavors," and called it "one of Italy's best brut prosecco bottlings."

In the 1.5L magnum, you get two standard bottles' worth of this bright, easy-drinking Prosecco in one festive format, which makes it a natural centerpiece for a party or holiday table. Prosecco is made to be enjoyed young and fresh, so the magnum is about presence and sharing rather than cellaring.

Origins & Craftsmanship

Bisol Crede Brut is produced by the Bisol family in Valdobbiadene, in Italy's Veneto region, within the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. The grapes are grown on clay-rich soils at about 250 meters elevation and farmed sustainably. The blend is predominantly Glera, with Chardonnay or Pinot Bianco and small amounts of Verdiso or Pinot Nero depending on the vintage. The wine sees brief aging on the lees before the second fermentation. Bottled at 11.5% ABV, presented here in a 1500ml magnum.
