Darroze Vintage 1986 Bas-Armagnac Chateau de Lahitte à Courrensan

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

46.5% ABV, 750 ml

Made from 67% Ugni Blanc, 33% Colombard

One of our favorite Negociants in the Armagnac world is Francis Darroze. His specialty is buying brandy from small producers scattered around Gascony, and finishing the brandy is his cellars. They are all bottled at cask strength, and bottled as vineyard designated, vintage-dated Armagnacs. Each one is a masterpiece.

The older Armagnacs are constructed from 100% Bacco, a grape known more for its bass, producing a full-bodied and “fat” Armagnac. The Bacco of Gascony is slowly being phased out—“hybrid” grapes like Bacco soon will no longer be allowed in the AOC region.

Tasting Notes from the Producer

Shiny amber color. A rustic but very elegant nose. Typical aromas of an Armagnac of this age: licorice, leather, cinnamon, cloves, toast. On the palate, the balance of alcohol, tanins and aromas is magnificent. The flavors of candied fruit, hardboiled sweets, cinnamon and gingerbread go on and on.

Bottle Size: All bottles are 750ML unless otherwise noted.

21 and Over: Adult Signature Required
