Darroze Vintage 1990 Bas-Armagnac Domaine de Tucom à Cravencères

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

48.5% ABV, 750 ml

Made from 80% Baco, 20% Ugni Blanc

One of our favorite Negociants in the Armagnac world is Francis Darroze. His specialty is buying brandy from small producers scattered around Gascony, and finishing the brandy is his cellars. They are all bottled at cask strength, and bottled as vineyard designated, vintage-dated Armagnacs. Each one is a masterpiece.

The older Armagnacs are constructed from 100% Bacco, a grape known more for its bass, producing a full-bodied and “fat” Armagnac. The Bacco of Gascony is slowly being phased out—“hybrid” grapes like Bacco soon will no longer be allowed in the AOC region.

Tasting Notes from the Producer

Amber color, golden tints. The nose is spicy, with cloves, licorice and chocolate aromas. Notes of rancio flavors. On the palate, tannins are round. We feel again undergrowth, rancio and spicy flavors. Extraordinary.

Bottle Size: All bottles are 750ML unless otherwise noted.
