Doc Swinson's has built the same experimental spirit into its rye whiskey program that defines its bourbon lineup — a solid MGP rye base, pushed through genuinely unusual finishing casks few other producers would attempt. This collection brings together six of the brand's most distinctive rye releases, spanning an ongoing rum-cask solera, a rare white port finish, Jamaican rum dunder pit funk, a double rum-and-tawny-port finish, a three-spirit rye-rum-tequila hybrid, and a genuine, no-nonsense Bottled in Bond expression that carries real historical weight. Every one of these is a highly limited small batch, with several among Doc Swinson's most awarded releases.
Alter Ego Solera Method Rye
Born from an excess of aged Caribbean rum casks (Trinidad, Venezuela, Jamaica), finished via an ongoing solera system established in 2020. Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Spiced orange peel, molasses, and fig.
Summer Retreat
Finished in genuinely rare white port casks — a cask type almost never seen in American whiskey. Master Blender Jesse Parker's own "bucket list" project. Toasted almond, orange marmalade, and tobacco.
Funky Drummer
A 7-year, 95% rye whiskey rested in seriously funky Jamaican rum casks (yes, real dunder pits). Pineapple, banana syrup, fuji apple, and warm baking spice.
Golden Hour
A 7-year straight rye given a double finish in rum and tawny port casks. Banana bread, berry jam, and plum fruit leather, closing long, warm, and gently sweet.
Tres Amigos
Rye that's already spent time in the Alter Ego rum solera, then finished a second time in Añejo tequila casks personally selected in Jalisco. Pear cobbler, agave syrup, and pineapple skin — genuinely tropical.
7 Year Bottled in Bond
A straight, honest, age-stated rye — one distilling season, aged a minimum of four years, bottled at exactly 100 proof under federal Bottled in Bond standards. No finishing gimmicks, just real rye character.
